The Breakwater Electric Veteran Reintegration Program
Three veterans of the armed services have joined our team through the Breakwater Electric Veteran Reintegration Program this year.
Brian C. Lewis was a member of the First Marine Expeditionary Force, and in 2003 took part in the drive to liberate Baghdad. In 2005, he returned for a second tour of duty, and during operations to suppress the enemy, he found his unit under attack. While returning fire, his vehicle struck an IED (improvised explosive device) and Brian was blown from the vehicle. Luckily, he sustained only superficial injuries and quickly returned to the battlefield after collecting a Presidential unit Citation and combat action honors.
Jason Schadeberg was a member of the Third Marine Expeditionary Force. and while Brian was in Iraq, Jason guarded against potential aggression on the Korean peninsula. He was stationed in Okinawa, and was mobilized to defend against any threats which materialized in the Pacific theater during Operation Iraqi Freedom. The best weapon is that which must never be used, and the mere presence of Jason and his comrades guaranteed peace in this volatile region.
Daniel S. Millard was a Combat Engineer for two tours in Iraq. He was initially deployed with the 1st Battalion 3rd Marine Regiment for Operation Phantom Fury (the assault on the city of Fallujah), where he was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. He returned for a second tour with the 7th Engineer Support Battalion. Shortly after being discharged in July 2007, Daniel joined the Breakwater Electric team.
